Centers for teaching and learning serve as “hubs of pedagogical innovation.” They aim to improve teaching practices by offering a wide range of services to faculty, such as pedagogy (andragogy) consultations, technology recommendations, professional development, training and technical support. At institutions where online learning is offered, such centers (or related functional groups) may also offer course content and media development, and support services.
That being said, not every institution has its own center, due to different organizational priorities, budgetary concerns or other considerations. ATTECS, LLC provides a flexible and affordable way to get started. For institutions that already provide such services, we can provide teams to help with short-term projects, or complementary skill sets.
What We Do
We work with colleges and universities, and non-profits to improve learning outcomes and student experience by supporting faculty in their use of evidence-based pedagogy (andragogy). In addition to faculty support and professional development, we provide course and content development (instructional design) and quality assurance services. We also help research and implement relevant tools for teaching, and train and support faculty to maximize adoption.
We provide hands-on training and support to individual faculty, who need help developing their online or technology enhanced courses. Such support is provided through individual live working sessions in a low stress environment. Training and professional development is available in a variety of formats, including self-help tutorials, individual or group live sessions, and/or fully online courses.
We help new aspiring entrepreneurs in teaching and learning - such as faculty, and higher education professionals, develop their working portfolios as part of the ATTECS network. By joining our network, they receive guidance and support in setting up their online personas in the higher education entrepreneurial space - while maintaining their independence and individuality. Services include a free use of our faculty development platform and commission based inclusion in our service collections. We also welcome more established entrepreneurs to extend the reach of their services through ATTECS through collaborative strategies and mutual promotion.
