The Next Chapter Conference

November 4 @ 8:00 am - November 5 @ 7:00 pm EST

Find Us There

We are bringing implementation management to New Orleans.

ATTECS is the featured speaker on Day 1 of The Next Chapter, a conference for higher education professionals navigating institutional change and personal transition. We are facilitating the VIP Leadership Experience, a full day of sessions built on AIM, the Accelerating Implementation Methodology from Peacock Hill Consulting powered by IMA Worldwide.

Most institutions do not have a strategy problem. They have plans, policies, and priorities. What is usually missing is the operational infrastructure to carry any of it into daily practice. That is what this day is about.

Every session works a problem the room already has.

Day 1 · Wednesday, November 4

The VIP Leadership Experience

Limited to 30 participants.

9:30 AM

Change Is Collective. Transition Is Personal.

We open with a question: what is changing around you right now that you did not choose? Change arrives for everyone at once. Transition, the internal work of adjusting to it, is something you do alone. Leaders get handed both at the same time and are expected to drive the change while living through it.

10:40 AM

Whatever Happened to That Big Rollout?

Every institution has one. The initiative that launched with real energy and quietly went away. The system everybody got trained on and nobody actually uses. Installing a change and implementing it are two different things, and most institutions stop after the first one.

11:30 AM

Change Starts at the Top, or It Doesn’t

Change does not succeed because it was announced. It succeeds when the people with the authority stay visibly involved long after the announcement. We look at what that involvement actually requires, what it costs when it is missing, and why it so often decides whether a change survives.

1:00 PM

Why “We Told Them and Trained Them” Isn’t Enough

When something stalls, the reflex is more communication and more training, as if people just missed the memo. But resistance is rarely a comprehension problem. This session looks at what pushback is telling you, and why getting people to work differently and keep working differently depends on reinforcement rather than announcements.

3:50 PM

Put It on the Table

Bring the change you have not been able to move. In small groups you lay out what you are stuck on and the room works it with you, offering angles, poking at your assumptions, and telling you what actually worked for them. A problem that feels impossible on your own has a way of loosening the second you say it out loud.

Day 2 · Thursday, November 5

The themes carry forward.

Day 2 is the full conference, open to all attendees. We are not running sessions, but the questions from Day 1 do not stay in that room. The Institutional Track picks them up directly:

Communicating Through Disruption. What effective change communication actually requires, and how to say hard things in a way that moves people.

Beyond Networking: Building Relationships That Break Down Silos. Building the relationships that make your work easier and your institution more connected.

Keeping Good People When You Can’t Promise Them Anything. What holds people to their work when formal rewards are not available to you.

The afternoon closes with scheduled 1:1 consultation slots.

Both Days

AIM consultants are on site for the whole conference.

If a session surfaces something about your own institution, you can ask. Bring the initiative you are carrying and the question you have not been able to answer.
